For International Women's Day, March 8, 2023, ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app hosted a workshop titled "Exploring Intersectionality on International Women's Day". It was led by Vice-President Okuda, together with Dr. Derlie Mateo-Babiano from the University of Melbourne.

This event was organized as part of the APWiL (Asia Pacific Women in Leadership) Mentoring Program, one of the main programs by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), of which ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app is a member.

At this event, Vice-President Okuda delivered a presentation on the origin and importance of the concept of intersectionality. The presentation can be viewed via the link below.

This workshop and the "Intersectionality Walk" were developed by the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) program. In line with this year¡¯s campaign theme for International Women's Day, "Embrace Equity", this event provided food for thought on the complexities of diversity and inclusion, and offered a fresh perspective on promoting equity.
