Elucidating the Complete Landscape of Genomic Abnormalities in Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATL)¡ªDemonstrating the Potential of Whole-Genome Sequencing in Cancer Research

We conducted a large-scale whole-genome sequencing analysis of 150 clinical specimens of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL), a refractory hematological malignancy, and comprehensively identified various genomic abnormalities that could not be detected by conventional analyses.

Based on the genetic abnormalities identified through whole-genome sequencing, we identified disease states with different clinical features and prognoses and proposed a new classification of ATL based on this analysis.

The complete landscape of genomic abnormalities in ATL has been revealed, and the results of this research are expected to provide a foundation for the development of new diagnostic methods and therapeutic drugs. This study has once again demonstrated the importance of whole-genome sequencing in cancer research.
