A research team from the ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app Hospital Memory Center, led by Project Associate Professor Shogyoku Bun of the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Project Professor Daisuke Ito of the Department of Physiology at the ´ºÓêÖ±²¥app School of Medicine, has announced that the plasma biomarker amyloid-¦Â 42/40 ratio can accurately predict cerebral amyloid-¦Â deposition as measured by amyloid PET scans.

This suggests the potential for high-precision screening of cerebral amyloid-¦Â deposition, a central pathology of Alzheimer's-type dementia, for a wide range of subjects using only a simple blood test.

The results of this research were published in the online edition of the international medical journal Alzheimer's Research & Therapy on September 4, 2023.
